Best time to go: The Indian Ocean Islands are a year round highlight and a great way to end your visit to Africa. Zanzibar experiences its rains from mid March to June. A short rainy season also occur from Sept to Nov.
Landscapes: Mostly palm fringed beaches with crystal clear water lapping the shores. The majority of the cultivatable land is used for coconut farming. There are also large areas set aside for a variety of spices.
Cultures: The majority of Zanzibar's population is made up of Muslims with smaller CHristian and Hindu communities scattered throughout the island.
Weather: No real distinction between summer and winter with an average temperature of 25ºC. Summer: February is the warmest. Winter: August is the coolest. |
